A new season is within reach. Rewinding back to 2021, when fashion trends had gone buzzworthy and everything old was brought back to society. The main highlight was certainly the Y2K. The most stylistic trend covering the 90s to early-mid 2000s style that had been popularized again all over social media platforms for its futuristic, slightly retro edge, colorful items of clothing matched together.

Though 2021 had some incredible fashion, 2022 might surpass them. As a matter of fact, if you're already fantasizing about spring and sunshine, now's the time to start planning your 2022 spring wardrobe update. The fashion industry's tastemakers are taking notes on recent runway presentations, and spring 2022 is shaping up to have various unique colors, aesthetics, and texture.

Speaking of the Y2K fashion, it is peaking higher than ever on a meteoric comeback finally after 2 decades, proving once again its inevitability on the nature of fashion. Still, it would continue to make its appearance again this coming new year.

Denim :

Usually, the core style in the fashion world cycles through the trend phase. But there are exceptions to this. The classic denim style is something you should be excited about whether it means going down the nostalgic memory lane or maybe adding some more spice and newer upgrades to it. Denim skirts, denim low-slung jeans, denim flare jeans, loose denim wide-leg pants, you name it! A fashion influencer, Maria Juvakka, once said she expects “loose-fitting denim with a lower rise to continue to gain its popularity this year.”

School style :

V-neck sweater vests are back and regained their popularity this century. Also coming from the 90s, particularly the 1970s, originating from the UK. The only difference now is that there are many versions of it. Baggy or even cropped. To make the whole outfit cuter, an array of different skirts are matched together. For instance, plaid skirts and tennis skirts. Of course, you can’t leave the accessories out. Fishnet stockings with combat-style boots.

Fashionable but also Sustainable :

Because the trend Y2K was 2 decades ago, it is difficult for people to find this specific type of clothing. And the only way to bring them back is to purchase them from a thrift shop or reproduce the clothes again. On platforms such as YouTube and Tik Tok, videos captioned "Charity/Thrift Shop Haul" receive thousands of likes. These creators explore charity shops for antique tank tops, small bags, and the right lingerie top or dress to recycle into an everyday wear item, promoting sustainability.

Power suits :

This fashion style enables not only men but women to establish their professional authority look. We are about to see some awesome ways the style can become to dominate this trend into the streets of big cities. The power suit has lately revived in pop culture fashion trends since the 1980s. The present rise of the power suit correlates with fourth-wave feminism, promoting equity of gender. There are plenty types of blazers and pantsuits such as one-button blazers, Chanel type of blazers, double-breasted blazers matched with flare pantsuits, etc.

Leather :

Leather is a classic fashion that could never go wrong regardless of trend and era. It is always comprised in every season collection in big brands such as Zara, Mixxo, Forever 21, Fashion Nova and so many more. Black plain leather jackets or pants are the signature feature found to be ubiquitously worn in these past few years. For those leather-wear lovers, this will be exciting news because it will be coming back again but vibrant colors like neon or pastels would be mostly found in this season.

The weather may still be chilly but spring 2022 is already around the corner. Preparing your wardrobe is a way for you to anticipate and get in the new year’s spirit!
