People with relentless smiles are an everyday enigma. Though their plates might not be overflowing with food, their wallets might not be crammed with money, and their roofs might not be able to shelter them from the ever pouring rain, some people never cease to smile. Their faces beam brighter than the scorching sun, and we can’t help but wonder why. Would we be able to find that same persistent joy inside office buildings or amidst the glamor of lavish hotel rooms? Would we be able to see that same contentment in the eyes whose gaze we meet in the mirror? Of all that, there is no guarantee.

Indeed, it may be all too easy to take things for granted if you wake up to those very same things every single day. Other times, you might be so caught up with problems, or so consumed with envy for a life you'll never have, that you forget to appreciate your own. Nevertheless, life goes on, whether or not you like it. The hole in your heart will remain--that is, unless you do something about it.

The state of your heart stems from the state of your mind, and the mindset you possess proves to be a decision of your own. You could be grateful for literally anything you choose to be. After all, who else could be responsible for your heart and its void of contentment? Who else would be able to control the one staring back at you in the mirror? At the end of the day, you choose your own state of mind.
